Your toothbrush is an important tool that can give you the strong, healthy, and beautiful smile you deserve, which is why it’s best to take care of your toothbrush as much as possible. To help you do so, our Edward B. Miller, DDS team recommends doing the following things:
–Rinse your toothbrush: It’s best to rinse your toothbrush with tap water after you’ve thoroughly brushed your teeth. Rinsing your toothbrush will wash away the bacteria, saliva, and toothpaste that are lingering on your toothbrush bristles.
–Let your toothbrush dry: After you’ve rinsed your toothbrush, make sure you store it in an upright position and let it air dry. Please make sure it is completely dry before you use it again. Drying your toothbrush will keep the bacteria and germs away from your toothbrush bristles.
–Take care of your toothbrush while traveling: When you are traveling, make sure you store your toothbrush in a plastic toothbrush container. However, please do not store the toothbrush in the container right after you’ve brushed your teeth. Your toothbrush will need to dry first.
